For three decades, Cortada has worked collaboratively with communities around the world to create art projects that address important social and environmental concerns, transforming public spaces into platforms for experiential learning and civic engagement. His interdisciplinary practice demonstrates how socially engaged art can cultivate a broad base of people who champion justice and help build the political will necessary for systemic change. The artist created a nonprofit, the Cortada Foundation, to grow and advance his social practice; click here to learn more about it.
