On Wednesday, July 1st, join the Underwater HOA for our next virtual monthly meeting presentation and discussion: Assessing the Vulnerability of Coastal Buildings to Storm-surge Flooding with Sonia Chao, Professor and Director of the Center for Urban & Community Design, University of Miami School of Architecture.
We invite you to take part in this ongoing community dialogue surrounding climate change and sea level rise, and how it will impact South Florida communities. Christian Kamrath, of the Miami Dade Office of Resilience, will also give a brief introduction to how community members can comment and provide feedback to the latest Army Corps of Engineer study. Released on June 5th, the study investigated solutions that will reduce the damage and risks from flooding that come from storm surges associated with hurricanes and tropical storms amplified by warming ocean temperatures and sea level rise.
We will also continue to explore ways to participate in one of two Underwater HOA subcommittee workshops: Pinecrest UHOA or Engagement & Programming.
Pinecrest UHOA Chapter, chaired by Dr. Brian Haus
Engagement & Programming, chaired by Cortada Projects Director Adam Roberti
Featured Speaker:
Sonia Chao
