Underwater HOA Monthly Meeting – February 3

On Wednesday, February 3rd, join the Underwater HOA for “Adapting to Sea Level Rise in Miami-Dade County” with featured speaker Katherine Hagemann,  Resilience Program Manager for Adaptation for Miami-Dade County, as we explore the various ways  Miami-Dade County is preparing for the future of climate change and its impacts on our infrastructure natural systems, and vulnerability to flooding.

The presentation will be followed by a Q & A with the speaker, and discussion with UHOA community members.


Katherine Hagemann is the Resilience Program Manager for Adaptation for Miami-Dade County, leading adaptation initiatives including incorporating sea level rise considerations into capital planning, water management systems, and management of natural areas. Katherine also led the vulnerability assessment of the County’s critical infrastructure to future flood risks amplified by sea level rise. Focusing on resiliency, adaptation, and sustainability, Katherine has contributed to designs and strategic approaches for the Connecticut Institute for Resilience and Climate Adaptation, the Yale Urban Ecology and Design Lab, and Office of Sustainability.

Katherine is a Yale graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in History, and a Master of Environmental Science from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies.
