Underwater HOA Monthly Meeting – April 7

On Wednesday, April 7th, join the Underwater HOA for “Sustainability at the University of Miami” with featured speaker Teddy L’Houtellier, Sustainability Manager at the University of Miami. Mr. L’Houtellier will present to the UHOA how the University’s Office of Sustainability works to promote a culture of environmental stewardship and sustainable development throughout the University of Miami’s extensive community of departments and organizations, strengthening its mission to spread sustainable behaviors, practices, and policies that will minimize our impacts on natural resources, reduce our carbon footprint, and foster a more balanced relationship between humans and their surrounding environment.
The presentation will be followed by a Q & A with the speaker, and open discussion with UHOA community members.
Teddy L’Houtellier is the Sustainability Manager for the University of Miami. He started at the U in 2014, implementing the University’s first comprehensive Sustainability Action Plan, after receiving a Silver ranking through the Sustainability Tracking and Assessment Rating System program. The Office of Sustainability team he manages helps initiate, monitor, track, promote, and advertise sustainability initiatives across divisions, schools and campuses. Green U, as the office is commonly known, is spreading sustainable development values every day among UM community members. Teddy graduated Magna Cum Laude from Florida International University, holding an MS degree in Environmental Studies – Energy Policy. He also holds a LEED Green Associate and a Project Management Professional certificate. He worked for four years as an Environmental Science and Environmental Policy Instructor at Florida International University and was the Outreach Coordinator for a Miami-based Solar Panel Distributor.
