On April 19th at 4:30 pm, Cortada will be dedicating his “Octopus Project” socially engaged art project at the SEED School of Miami.
As part of Cortada’s ART 315 Socially Engaged Art course, Cortada’s University of Miami students worked with staff and students from the SEED School of Miami to develop the main Octopus Project 2021 school-wide socially engaged art project to find and address an issue the group finds to be important to the broader school community. A select group of SEED School students, the art teacher and mental health counselor met weekly during the Spring 2021 semester to develop the broader campaign and brought 8 existing participatory art projects to be implemented with other students the school.
