ON THIS DAY

This week, a site opened in Overtown to service those without housing at St. John Institutional Missionary Baptist Church. The site includes 20 porta potties, 4 showers, regular access to education about COVID-19, and access to gloves, masks, meals, tents and sanitary wipes.

This site is led by Dr. Armen Henderson of Dream Defenders. Just two weeks ago, he was handcuffed while unloading tents to give out to the unhoused in Downtown.
