ON THIS DAY

High school seniors are facing an unprecedented school year that has impacted how they will be celebrating their achievements. Yesterday, Miami-Dade County Public Schools released details on exactly what graduation ceremonies for the Class of 2020 will look like. Superintendent Alberto Carvalho offered virtual graduations or postponing in-person graduations until an all clear, even if it happens months away. A social media campaign will also be dedicated to commemorating seniors and special recognition for those receiving college and athletic scholarships, military and first-generation graduates, top 10% of graduates, Silver Knight award nominees, and those with exemplary community service.
