Daily Update: April 14, 2020

Greetings neighbors, this is the Miami Corona Project Daily Update for Tuesday, April14th, 2020:

As of yesterday, April 13th, 2020, there have been 7,459 positive cases of coronavirus across the county, with 581 hospitalizations and a total of 109 deaths–twelve more than yesterday.

The city of Hialeah is fast becoming a coronavirus hotspot, with more confirmed cases than Orlando, Tampa, and St. Petersburg. The community with a large senior population currently has over 700 confirmed cases of COVID-19 since Friday.

Things are becoming increasingly clear that state residents will be keeping their distance and wearing face masks for up to a year until a coronavirus vaccine exists, as Florida Surgeon General Scott Rivkees announced Monday in response to questions about the duration of such protocol.

Across the United States, the national total of positive cases has grown to 682,619, the total number of those fallen rising to 23,529.

Let’s hope today brings better news.  I’ll update you tomorrow.
