Twelve of our neighbors have been pronounced dead in the last 24 hours. As of May 22nd, 2020, there have been a total of 614 deaths due to coronavirus across Miami-Dade County. May those who have fallen to the pandemic rest in peace.

Governor Ron DeSantis announced Friday in Jacksonville that Florida would allow organized activities for children, effective immediately. In this news conference, DeSantis noted that children are much less likely to face serious consequences from the novel coronavirus. Just recently, however, it was found that children can become affected by coronavirus through the inflammatory syndrome MIS-C and, although the condition is considered rare with a low mortality rate, there is still much unknown about the syndrome.
