1901 CONVENTION CTR DR, MIAMI BEACH, FL 33139

Xavier Cortada, Miami-Dade County’s inaugural artist-in-residence, was joined by Adam Roberti, the executive director of the Xavier Cortada Foundation, on March 5th in a conversation about the role of art in generating awareness and action around the climate crisis. The speakers discussed how they’ve worked together to develop interdisciplinary partnerships and collaborations that rebuild ecosystems, spark climate conversations, and ultimately empower agents of change. They also talked about how intergenerational mentorships can create important opportunities for sharing knowledge, perspectives and inspiration.

about the future leaders climate summit

The Aspen Institute‘s Future Leaders Climate Summit aims to gather the most diverse group of 18-30-year-olds for three days to discuss climate policy, communications, advocacy, and individual action with climate and energy experts. The Future Leaders work with these experts and each other to develop ideas and recommendations for wicked problems facing their communities today, from mitigating climate change, to adapting to extreme weather impacts, to preparing for a rapidly changing world that likely will include more political unrest, forced migration, and security issues. During the Summit, Future Leaders develop local action plans and make pledges to go back to their communities and engage with local elected officials, educate their community, and provoke action. This summit preceded the Aspen Ideas: Climate conference held in the Miami Beach Convention Center from March 6 – 9, 2023.
