At the invitation of the Office of the Consulate General of Germany in Miami, Xavier Cortada participated in a panel discussion on the power of art in addressing our climate crisis. At the end of the evening, Adam Roberti, the executive director of the Xavier Cortada Foundation, delivered a PowerPoint presentation about the impact of humans on our climate. He ended by leading participants in creating yard signs depicting the elevation of their homes above sea level as part of “The Underwater,” a socially engaged art project Cortada created to help communities understand their vulnerability and prepare for a future with rising seas.
