Join us on Wednesday, Oct.2 at the Books & Books in Pinecrest, FL from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. for this month’s Underwater HOA meeting!

If you’re a concerned Florida homeowner and curious as to see what policies our local government is currently considering and pursuing to prepare for sea-level-rise, please stop by and share your feedback or suggestions!

This month’s meeting will be focusing on Resilient305 and their strategy to combat climate change and its impacts on Greater Miami and The Beaches (GM&B), a partnership between Miami-Dade County, the City of Miami and the City of Miami Beach. Resilient305 will address sunny-day flooding, sea level rise, hurricanes and much more, along with their plan to better adapt and prepare the region for these events.

Potential policies that will be covered in the meeting will include the ban of septic tanks, the adoption of a cost-benefit analysis that includes the multiplier effect of sea-level-rise, and the incorporation of a Development Review Checklist in the Miami-Dade Comprehensive Master Plan for future land use and projects.

The goal of the meeting is to reach a consensus on a single policy that resonates most with the group, to answer community questions and to receive feedback on suggested policies.

Sea-level-rise will happen and it is up to you to decide what to do about it. By coming to this meeting you are already taking a step towards a better future for your family and home. We hope to see you there!
