The National Weather Center Biennale

April 19, 2015 - June 14, 2015

The National Weather Center Biennale is the first exhibition of its kind – an international juried exhibition presenting: Art’s Window on the Impact of Weather on the Human Experience. The 2015 exhibition is sponsored by the National Weather Center in Norman, Oklahoma, the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art at the University of Oklahoma, and the Norman Arts Council.

In conjunction with Earth Day 2015, the exhibition opens on Sunday, April 19 and closes Sunday, June 14, 2015.

The National Weather Center Biennale is excited to announce that Houston conceptual artist Mel Chin served as the 2015 guest juror! Read more about Mr. Chin here.

The exhibition will be staged in the National Weather Center. Completed in 2006, the 244,000-square-foot NWC building is the anchor of a unique research and learning community including the nation’s largest academic meteorology program, several National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration research, operations and support organizations, and more than a half dozen private weather and weather technology-related companies – all located within a few hundred yards of each other on the University of Oklahoma’s Research Campus. The central space for the exhibition will be the dramatic 9,600-square-foot atrium with gallery lighting and full security.
