SUMMARY:Plan(T) at UNTITLED\, ART Fair's "Futurescape Miami: Skyline to Shoreline"
DESCRIPTION:Plan(T) Home | About | Schools | Libraries | Farmer’s Market | Frost Science | Lincoln Road | Science Advisors | Press | Events\n  \nCortada Projects invites you to Futurescape Miami: Skyline to Shoreline\, a public presentation by the Facebook Art Department and Facebook Analog Research Lab\, as part of UNTITLED\, ART Fair’s Monuments Program during Art Basel Miami 2019 from Wednesday\, Dec. 4 to Sunday\, Dec. 8. \nPlan(T) Presentation  \nWednesday\, Dec. 4 – Sunday\, Dec. 8 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  \nSea levels are rising. Saltwater intrusion into our drinking water\, septic tanks\, landscape and agriculture is inevitable. Artist Xavier Cortada wants residents to do something about it. \nIn his new\, socially-charged “Plan(T)” project\, Cortada is embarking on a public campaign to urge every resident across Miami-Dade County to plant a saltwater-tolerant mangrove propagule and an elevation-marked flag in their yard to symbolize and start preparing for the future of sea level rise.   \nOur “mangrove in every yard” forestation effort encourages residents to facilitate climate conversations\, sequester carbon dioxide\, and grow our salt-tolerant native tree canopy. \nBy planting for a future with saltwater-intrusion\, local residents can begin planning for the effects that climate change will bring to Miami. \n*To learn more about Plan(T) click here.* \n— \nBack to all 2019 Events
