Native Flags exhibit at FIU Graham Center
April 9, 2012 @ 8:00 am - May 12, 2012 @ 5:00 pm
Native Flags exhibit at FIU Graham Center 4/9/2012 to 4/30/2012 Native Flags is a participatory eco-art project created by Xavier Cortada, FIU College of Architecture + The Arts | Office of Engaged Creativity artist-in-residence. Native Flags participants plant a native tree next to a green flag at home and ask their neighbors to do the same. On April 10th, a Native Flag green flag and sapling will be planted at every school in Miami-Dade County Public Schools. See www.nativeflags.org.
As a companion to the tree planting activities, schools and the community at large can also view a WLRN-produced informational video throughout Earth Week, highlighting the relevance of these activities as a way to increase our community’s tree canopy. The video can be accessed by clicking the link below.
Photos of tree planting activities at the individual schools will also be posted online at www.nativeflags.org after April 10th.
