SUMMARY:Letters to the Future at UNTITLED\, ART Fair's "Futurescape Miami: Skyline to Shoreline"
DESCRIPTION:Letters to the Future Home | About | Participate | Letters\n  \nCortada Projects invites you to Futurescape Miami: Skyline to Shoreline\, a public presentation by the Facebook Art Department and Facebook Analog Research Lab\, as part of UNTITLED\, ART Fair’s Monuments Program during Art Basel Miami 2019 from Wednesday\, Dec. 4 to Sunday\, Dec. 8. \n\nLetters to the Future Presentation \nWednesday\, Dec. 4 – Sunday Dec. 8 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  \nWrite an open letter to someone living in the future and hang it on a clothesline for the public to read and contemplate. Although the letters are written for people not yet born\, the true audience are those breathing in the present. \n  \nToday\, too many are in denial about the human impact on global climate change. By writing to someone in the future\, we can’t deny their existence. By writing to them\, we create a connection to them. \nBeing able to connect with our progeny raises the stakes for us now. It lengthens the “care horizon” beyond our lifetime. It encourages us to do all we can now to protect our planet\, its future generations and the animals we coevolved with. \n*To learn more about Letters to the Future click here.* \n— \nBack to all 2019 Events \n
