SUMMARY:POSTPONED DUE TO COVID-19: Letters to the Future exhibition
DESCRIPTION:UPDATE: The Letters to the Future exhibition set to take place from March 20 to April 4\, 2020 has been postponed due to concerns associated with the coronavirus (COVID-19). We are working to secure a new date and will update you as soon as soon as possible. In the meantime\, we urge everyone to stay safe and vigilant with their health and make sure to follow official news from Miami-Dade County regarding developments around COVID-19 in our community and nationwide. Your health is top priority. \n  \nLetters to the Future Home | About | Participate | Letters \n  \nCome write a letter to the future at the Hibiscus Gallery in Pinecrest Gardens – open and free to the public everyday between 10am – 6pm. \n\nWrite an open letter to someone living in the future and hang it on a clothesline for the public to read and contemplate. Although the letters are written for people not yet born\, the true audience are those breathing in the present. \nToday\, too many are in denial about the human impact on global climate change. By writing to someone in the future\, we can’t deny their existence. By writing to them\, we create a connection to them. \nBeing able to connect with our progeny raises the stakes for us now. It lengthens the “care horizon” beyond our lifetime. It encourages us to do all we can now to protect our planet\, its future generations and the animals we coevolved with. \n*Note the exhibit will be closed from February 19\, 2020 through March 17\, 2020 \n— \nBack to all 2020 Events
