SUMMARY:DO NOT OPEN at UNTITLED\, ART Fair's "Futurescape Miami: Skyline to Shoreline"
DESCRIPTION:DO NOT OPEN Home | About | Poem | Participate\n  \nCortada Projects invites you to Futurescape Miami: Skyline to Shoreline\, a public presentation by the Facebook Art Department and Facebook Analog Research Lab\, as part of UNTITLED\, ART Fair’s Monuments Program during Art Basel Miami 2019 from Wednesday\, Dec. 4 to Sunday\, Dec. 8. \nDO NOT OPEN Presentation \nFriday\, Dec. 6 – Sunday\, Dec. 8 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. \nIn this ritualistic exercise\, the artist leads participants in writing a letter that will be sealed\, archived and unread until 2119. \nWe are pioneers and runaway slaves and political refugees making new home.\nIn a strange place built on water.\nWith hurricanes.\nAnd more. \nWe’ve witnessed destruction and loss.\nBut now face our greatest challenge:  Water is rising and it won’t recede. \nWe must summon courage\, share wisdom with those who will follow.\nWe must tell them who we are.  We must explain what we saw.  We must show them how we responded. \nWe must help them navigate the greater chaos. To come. \nWe must write it all down.  Seal it in an envelope.\nFor them.  To read. \nLater. \nTell them not to open it for a hundred years. \n— Xavier Cortada \n*To learn more about DO NOT OPEN click here.* \n— \nBack to all 2019 Events
