Upon arriving in Glasgow, I walked to George Square and witnessed activism in action. Members of Extinction Rebellion (XR), artists and other pilgrimage groups who had walked thousands of miles to Glasgow  joined each other in a procession at George Square. 

The event is said to be an “opening ceremony” to a series of non-violent direct actions being planned in Glasgow, around the UK and the world during the United Nations Climate Change Conference. 

These poets, environmentalists, and activists joined other members of the international community in sharing their stories, passions, and hopes during this climate crisis. United, they closed the event in song.
