On October 29th, I flew to the UK on British Airways. Landing at Heathrow, COP26 signs were everywhere – as well as those of advertisers who are trying to cash in on this moment.  Arriving in Glasgow more signs welcomed COP26 participants, as did the many committed volunteers who distributed COVID-19 testing kits and roamed the streets offering assistance. I’m concerned about the outcome of the conference – a news article I read on the bus in from the airport signaled that China could make success elusive. It’s a big moment for the world and obviously for Glasgow. Everyone is aware there is a climate conference in Glasgow. I wonder if they will be talking about it when the conference ends. I’m hoping the conversation continues long after the signs come down.
