Oct. 27, 2021 – Cortada launches “HELLO” with Miami-Dade County Mayor Levine Cava

Today marked the start of my newest socially engaged art project, “HELLO.” Through this platform, I invite you to be part of the 26th Annual UN Climate Change Conference (COP26) and define yourself not by your first name, but by your fears, hopes, purposes, futures, and elevations above sea level at the link in my bio.

I’ll be leaving to Glasgow on Friday for the international conference to spark conversations about the climate crisis through the power of art and urge leaders to reflect on how the decisions they make over the next two weeks will impact the lives of every single one of us.

Special thanks to Mayor Daniella Levine Cava who helped launch this project as its first participant at her press conference this morning, where she shared the County’s updated Climate Action Strategy and Miami-Dade’s pledge to cut greenhouse gas emissions to net-zero by 2050. She will also be one of many elected officials at COP26, sharing Miami-Dade’s action plan on the world stage as a leading partner in the international Race to Zero.
