Nov. 5, 2021 – Environmental Law Institute Global Leaders Reception

Environmental Law Institute reception for global leaders

I was honored to be invited by the Environmental Law Institute as their National Wetlands Award recipient to a COP26 reception focused on connecting judges and climate scientists to address the climate crisis.

The rule of law and the laws of science are essential in our arsenal to fight climate change. That fight is being led by the lawyers and scientists in attendance, including Sir David King, founder and chair of Cambridge University’s Center for Climate Repair, Justice António Benjamin of the National High Court of Brazil, Justice Luc Lavrysen of the Constitutional Court of Belgium, and Dr. Myles Allen, head of the Climate Dynamics group at the University of Oxford’s Atmospheric, Oceanic and Planetary Physics Department.

youth climate march

On Friday I marched with thousands of people from around the world to demand climate action from our world leaders.

As you can see see on my HELLO tag, the youth give me hope. From the toddlers waving their signs to the university students leading chants, I couldn’t have been more proud to be marching by their side.
