On the opening day of COP26, Cortada reflected on the importance of this UN global climate conference at this pivotal moment in human history. If we fail to act, this climate crisis will condemn our planet’s inhabitants and their progeny to a miserable and inhospitable future. Our failure to act will also continue to usher in the sixth mass extinction, depleting our planet of its biodiversity and habitats. Cortada also reflected on the role of an artist (to use arts elasticity to help problem solve) in moments such as this. There are 12 days of negotiations, meetings at COP26. The outcome will define the course of humanity and biodiversity.
