We need a Flower Force because wildflowers are essential to ecosystems everywhere—and because art has the power to inspire and unite communities. Through Flower Force, we’re asking people to plant wildflowers to support pollinators, beautify their surroundings, and take action for the environment.
Pollination
Pollinators like bees and butterflies rely on wildflowers for food and shelter. In return, these pollinators help sustain biodiversity, support food production, and keep ecosystems in balance. But habitat loss, pesticides, and climate change are threatening pollinators worldwide, putting our food, natural beauty, and even clean air at risk.
Creativity
Art, like Flower Force, brings people together and makes complex issues easier to understand and act upon. By connecting with nature through creativity, we can all become part of the solution to protect our natural world and its pollinators. Together, we can grow a movement for change—one wildflower at a time.

Artist Statement
Wildflowers magically rise from the soil in a triumphant celebration of color and form. They are architectural masterpieces, miniature cathedrals. Ever building and ever decaying. And ever regenerating themselves again according to plan.
Wildflowers hold medicinal powers to combat diseases we have yet to encounter. To solve problems we have yet begun to imagine.
Wildflowers allow the planet’s pollinators, with whom they co‐evolved through time, to fulfill their joint responsibility of sustaining life’s fragile web. An intricate and complex biological process that makes Earth verdant, sustains all animals (including humans), and balances atmospheric gases (that accelerate global climate change).
Obviously, wildflowers would naturally continue to blanket our planet were it not for the displacement caused by the concrete we’ve poured ‐‐ and the parcels we’ve platted ‐‐ to build our homes and grow our society.
