The artist created the “convictim” mural during Fall 2001 with the participation of juvenile offenders aged 14 – 18 incarcerated at Miami’s Turner Guilford Knight Corrections Facility waiting to be tried or sentenced as adults.
The mural was sponsored through of ArtCARE: Outreach to Juveniles Being Tried as Adults a project presented by Miami-Dade Art in Public Places and the Law Offices of Bennett H.
