In 2009, Xavier Cortada created Native Canopy, eight double sided digital tapestries for the Nelson Center in Key Largo, FL. Commissioned by the Monroe County Art in Public Places, the tapestries serve as reminders of place and markers of time, climbing up the staircase of the building reminding visitors of climbing the branch of a tree.
