WSVN News: Cortada launches CLIMA exhibit during the Paris Climate Talks

The CLIMA art exhibit featured environmental works by Miami artist Xavier Cortada, including digital art, polar installations, paintings and drawings and videos of performances created during the artist’s Rauschenberg Residency in 2015. The show’s opening coincided with the start of the Paris Talks (COP21) on November 30, 2015 and runs through January 29, 2016 at the Milander Center for Arts and Entertainment in Hiealeah.

Cortada convened 12 daily panel discussions at CLIMA, featuring various scientists and local leaders such as Clerk of Courts Harvey Ruvin, Superintendent Carvalho, Chief Science Officer for the Patricia and Phillip Frost Science Museum, County Commissioners Sosa and Levine Cava and a World Health Organization doctor. Over, 1800 visitors participated. The 12 days of programmed panels, performance art and special events coincided with the 12 days of COP21 Paris Talks.
