The paddle adventure will feature a three-mile excursion to Helker’s Island in the northern part of the aquatic preserves, just south of Broad Causeway. Once at the island, Miami eco-artist Xavier Cortada will lead an eco-art project with the participants displaying flags featuring children’s own eco-action inspired artwork.  The after party will feature music & food trucks which will be preceded by a hearty 6 mile round trip paddle from Pelican Harbor Boat Ramp on the 79th Street Cswy up to Helker’s Island. Don’t know where that is? Well, come get to know your bay!
