Xavier Cortada was invited to Medellin, Colombia in 1994 to work with Surgir, a community-based substance abuse prevention group, to express their concerns in the violence-torn city and to develop strategies to fight drugs in Quiero Paz.

- “Quiero Paz” – Documenting the concerns of local school children in their violence-torn city while developing strategies to fight drugs– conflict prohibited ability to execute the mural in local school (in collaboration with Surgir, a community-based substance abuse prevention group in Medellin, Colombia).
